1. EVERYONE WAKES UP IN THE LIVING QUARTERS
Even if your character happens to appear during an event week, they cannot participate in the current event. The living quarters is a separate area from the event halls, though there are strange things that occur in there as well. They would have to wait for the next one and sit inside the living quarters until then. This is just to avoid confusion, considering that since the game is mostly events-based, we don't want any anomalies to occur. So, for example, your character appears in the game on the 16th of October, you would have to wait until November to be able to participate in the next event. However, if they appear on the 14th, they could join the event for that month as long as a event post hasn't gone up yet.
2. POWERS AND WEAPONS ARE ONLY ACTIVATED/PROVIDED DURING THE EVENT
This means that while you're in the living quarters, you can't suddenly turn into a Super Saiyan and bust out of the walls. Even those with super strength would be limited as well, just to lessen the chance of someone dying in the living quarters. If you try to use, say, a kitchen knife to stab someone, it'll turn into a rubber knife temporarily. Long story short, weapons are useless and any attempt to kill each other would be thwarted. So don't try making a bomb, unless you want it to explode into harmless bubbles. Wait until an event starts, then you guys can go out and attack each other all you want. That's why our password is 'Smash! Crash! The boys will clash!' However, if you try to bust through the wall, you'd end up in the same place again so don't waste too much energy on escaping.
Note: Remember that some events will require them to lose their powers again, or at least mess with them.
3. THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES AND PENALTIES ABOUND
The Seven are the ones who have to pull out their energy if you die, so of course they would want you to pay a price for that. Killing, dying, losing more than twice or losing consecutively while on the first level will give have their corresponding penalties, and they become even more severe each time. This could range from physical, mental or emotional consequences so try not to overdo those, please?
As for the events, there are also dire consequences. Joining an event but not doing anything during that week automatically makes your character drop a level. Skipping one will do nothing for the character, but they will have to stay in the living quarters the whole time. Losing twice in an event makes you drop a level, and losing more than two events in a row makes you drop a level and gives you an added penalty.
4. YOU CAN ONLY SKIP A TOTAL OF 3 CONSECUTIVE EVENTS
While we know some people might not want to join certain events, we would rather you don't go skipping all of them. The events provide the characters a chance to get a wish of their own after all, and if they don't join it, then they're basically just waiting for nothing. If you've already skipped 3 events in a row, you are required to join the next one. Not doing anything during that event automatically makes your character drop a level, so try not to be too inactive.
5. IF A CHARACTER IS DROPPED, WE ASSUME THAT THE SHADOWS TOOK THEM
It's inevitable that some people would leave, but that's why the shadows roam around. It is assumed that they somehow tricked/bribed/fooled the character into following them and will never be heard of again. Once they do return, most likely all of their memories would be erased unless he/she is a returning mun, then he/she has the choice to remember being in the Tower but not meeting the shadows.
6. ONCE AN EVENT STARTS, YOU CANNOT RETURN TO THE LIVING QUARTERS
In the duration of the event, all of the players will have to stay in the event area and everyone in the living quarters stay there. This is so there would be less confusion and according to the Seven, less chances of cheating the game.
7. IF YOUR CHARACTER DIES MID-EVENT, THEY RETURN TO THE LIVING QUARTERS
They will also incur a death penalty and drop a level, so try not to kill him too often. Not everyone likes having to suffer the consequences of their actions, especially those that costs their life.
1. OOC DRAMA WILL NOT BE TOLERATED
Pretty easy to figure out. Please don't drag your problems into the game. If you have a problem with a mun and you're having difficulty resolving it on your own, then please come to a mod about it. We want all of our players to respect each other. Remember that IC =/= OOC, and therefore anything that happens in-game should not be taken personally, or any dispute you have outside of the game should not be brought in.
2. MODS ARE YOUR FRIENDS
We are here to make the experience fun and organized. Please contact us if you have anything to ask! If you have a plot that you would like to discuss, go ahead and contact one of us via email or AIM to discuss and we'd be happy to listen to your ideas!
3. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 16 TO JOIN THIS RP
This is more LJ-Specific, but it is required that you act mature.
4. ALL MATERIALS OVER AN "R" RATING MUST BE LOCKED
Meaning that you may post logs of that nature but you MUST put a warning and a friends lock on it.
5. STAY IN CHARACTER
This pretty much speaks for itself.
6. NO GODMODDING, PLAYERCESTING OR METAGAMING
We cannot stress this enough. We will not allow godmodding or power playing in this game. All major things happening to characters as inflicted by other characters (such as deaths or serious injury) must be taken up with the respective mun first. Also, if you know something OOCly, it doesn't necessarily mean that your character would know it ICly as well. Please try not to mix the two up. Playercesting is also discouraged, as we are in a community in order to interact with other people, and not only with yourself.
7. PLEASE BE ACTIVE
Activity will be stressed. We ask that you post at least twice EVERY MONTH because there will be plots in this game. It's hard to have fun if you don't know what the hell is going on~ Logs are not mandatory, but they will show that you are active as well. Comments to other post will count for activity IF there are at least 10 consecutive comments.
8. WAIT UNTIL YOU'VE BEEN ACCEPTED
Don't start posting until after your application has been accepted. You may create the journal, if you like, but wait until a mod gives the 'OKAY' to post~
9. YOU MAY ONLY HAVE FOUR CHARACTERS AT ONE TIME
There is a set character limit at the moment for new players. You may have four at one time with a limit of two per fandom. Also, when choosing characters from the same fandom, be sure that your chosen characters aren't too close-- because RPing with yourself is no fun at all!
10. WE DO NOT ALLOW OCs
This includes real-life people and celebrities as well.
11. ONCE ACCEPTED, PLEASE LINK YOUR APPLICATION TO YOUR PROFILE
This is so anyone who doesn't know your canon could have a better understanding of your character. You can add extra sections of your choice (recent developments, relationships, etc.) and omit the samples if you want, but we would like to see the rest of the application. This isn't mandatory, but highly encouraged.
12. FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS
This is to make sure that you get accepted in the community. It would be unfair to the others if they follow everything to the dot and you miss a few steps, right?
13. ALL POSTS SHOULD BE IN THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMUNITIES
Just so we're clear:
thetower_rpg - This community is where network posts such as VOICE/VIDEO/TEXT go. This is more useful if you're already experiencing an event, since the locations would be far and wide. It's meant to help members communicate in an easier manner when they are separated.
thetower_logs - This community is where action posts such as LOGS/ACTION go. You are not limited to making logs only or action posts only. Here, it's best for their time within the living quarters or when they are in a situation that requires them to be face to face with each other.
Please use the following format when you post:
thetower_ooc - This community is for all game-related but out-of character posts: character intros, plot-related posts, hiatus entries, etc.
radtower - This community is for all off-canon, crack, out-of-character posts. Everything else that doesn't fit the rest of the communities: memes, fic, fsts, etc.
14. NO DISCRIMINATION ALLOWED
If you cannot handle different character races, preferences, gender, tastes, etc., we suggest you look for another community. As much as possible, keep an open mind. Some people have different tastes from you and would most likely play them out.
15. ANY MAJOR PLAYER-RUN EVENTS MUST BE CONSULTED WITH THE MODS FIRST
Chances are, we might approve, but we would like to be aware of the ideas before it happens just so we're not left in the dust as well. It would be hard for us to do our job if no one would inform us of their changes. Some player-run plots could also disrupt planned events, so we would like to know of them so we can act accordingly. In fact, if we like them enough, we could postpone our own events in view of it to lessen confusion.
16. The most important rule of all-- Don't be that guy!
